UEFA has announced three players who will battle for the 2019/20 Europa League Player of the Season. Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is one of the three players, and is joined on the list by Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Sevilla’s Ever Banega, who all had impressive campaigns.
Fernandes scored two goals for United during the mini-tournament in Germany, having initially starred for Sporting Lisbon before his January move to England.
He topped the scorers’ charts with eight goals in 10 matches, while also providing four assists during the period.
Lukaku, on the other hand, was the driving force for Antonio Conte’s Milan as they finished as runners up, while also finishing behind Fernandes with seven goals in total.
Banega was an ever-present figure for Sevilla as they marched to the title in Germany, before joining Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab.
Eden Hazard is the previous recipient of the accolade, with this year’s winner set to be announced during the competition group stage draw in October.
