Prince Harry Is 'Finding Life a Bit Challenging', Says Dr. Jane Goodall

Britain's Prince Harry is "finding life a bit challenging" since he broke away from the royal family to live in Canada and then Los Angeles with wife Meghan Markle and their 11-month-old baby Archie, a close friend has revealed.

Dr. Jane Goodall claims to have been in regular contact with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since they stepped down from their official duties to pursue a life of their own, according to Daily Mail. The uncertainty of their future has been affecting Harry, she said.

"I don’t know how his career is going to map out, but, yes, I’ve been in touch – though I think he’s finding life a bit challenging right now,' she said in an interview with Radio Times, per Daily Mail.

Goodall’s comments come days after she revealed that Harry had been hinting for months about stepping away from his roles as a senior royal.

"I made Archie do the Queen’s wave, saying, 'I suppose he’ll have to learn this,' she recalled of an event at Windsor Castle last year.

"Harry said: 'No, he’s not growing up like that.'"

Harry and Markle caused a stir in January when they announced their intentions "to step back" from the royal family and "work to become financially independent."

They swapped the U.K. for North America but the move has been complicated by the global coronavirus pandemic, which finds the couple and Archie in California, far away from Harry's father, Prince Charles, who tested positive for COVID-19.

"As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile," Harry and Markle said in a recent statement.

"What's most important right now is the health and well-being of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic," they added. "As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute."
