A large crowd protect Muslims in prayer at Denver Interational airport
Palwasha Khan, a resident of Colorado shared a number of pictures on Facebook of hundreds of people surrounding a group of Muslims who stood to prayer. Says Palwasha:
Today, we prayed namaz (the Muslim prayer) at the main terminal of DIA. The police told us that we could not openly pray. Let that sink in for a second - We were not allowed to peacefully pray and that we would be arrested if we did. That didn't stop us. We prayed anyway. As I prayed for the safety of my family, my friends, my community, the millions of refugees, the homeless, the vulnerable, the sick, the world....I felt the protection of all the protestors. Christians, Agnostics, Jews, Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Arabs, other Muslims, they all banded together to make sure we could pray in peace. Thank you to each and every single one of you from the deepest part of my soul. May we continue to band together and fight tyranny, inequality, and hate.
